CANTON – Henrich Hockey capped off their preliminary round at the 2023 Chowder Cup by defeating BTB Selects 6-1 in Jr. A Division play on Saturday afternoon at the Canton Ice House.
The game seemingly belonged to Henrich from the start as the eventual victors peeled off three straight in the game’s first half to run out to a 3-0 advantage. Carson Brown scored twice and then set up Jobey Pearson for Henrich’s third goal in the first.
BTB stemmed the bleeding as they opened the second half scoring. A Brandon Ferencz goal in the opening minutes of the frame cut the deficit to 3-1, but it was just a small intermission in Henrich’s scoring streak.
Brown completed his hattrick – and game-high four points (3G, 1A) – and was joined in the scorers’ column by Han Quishi and Gavin Ramkisson to finish out the 6-1 victory for Henrich.
Goaltender Matteo Porporino was credited with his second win of the tournament.
