BRAINTREE – Saving their best for last, Gotta Hockey (Black) came through with their first College Open win of the 2023 Chowder Cup on Saturday afternoon. They defeated Edinger’s Edge 5-3 at Thayer Academy.
Gotta Hockey jumped on Edinger’s early in search of the win. They built up a 3-0 lead on goals by Liam Hellyer, Ian D’Ambrosio and Adam Zaremba that they carried into the halftime break.
The deficit was not enough to stop Edinger’s from returning to the ice for the second. They stormed back in a big way, rallying to tie the game 3-3, but Zaremba’s second of the contest put Gotta Hockey back out in front with about eight minutes to play in the contest.
Landon McRae then sealed the deal in the closing seconds with the score to bring about the 5-3 final.
