Walpole, Mass. — Goals came from every direction Saturday morning, but Vantage Zone Elite Black seized control in the second period, pulling away from NYD for a 7-4 victory at Cadillac Arena OLY.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
NYD wasted little time getting on the board as Ryan Murphy (#19) scored at 1:16 with an assist from Luke Amen (#13).
Vantage Zone Elite Black answered at 6:58 when Zachary Dix (#21) finished a setup from Sawyer Taylor (#47) to even the score.
NYD regained the lead just over two minutes later as Ashtyn Catlin (#6) scored at 9:02.
Vantage Zone Elite Black responded with two late first-period goals to take control. Maksymilian Rosenberg (#0) tied the game at 13:40 off an assist from Vincent Baldari (#40) before Patrick O’Reilly (#23) scored at 18:42 with help from Liam Magovern (#48), giving Vantage Zone Elite Black a 3-2 advantage after one.
The lead grew early in the second period when Rosenberg (#0) netted his second goal at 7:19. NYD answered less than a minute later as Luce Habl (#16) scored at 8:13 with an assist from Amen (#13) to cut the deficit back to one.
Vantage Zone Elite Black continued to find answers. Dix (#21) struck again at 9:25 off a feed from Max Thomas (#66) before Charles Bailey (#20) made it 6-3 at 14:20 with an assist from Magovern (#48). Vincent Baldari (#40) added another at 15:14, finishing a play set up by Christian Bifano (#31).
NYD closed the scoring late when Grant Koller (#10) found the back of the net at 16:41, but the comeback bid ended there as Vantage Zone Elite Black secured the 7-4 win.
