Foxborough, Mass. — Carolana Selects Elite erased an early deficit, battled back from behind again late in regulation, and came through in the shootout to defeat Threes Hockey Red Elite and capture the Senior Chowder Cup Jr. A Elite Division title.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Threes Hockey Red Elite opened the scoring when Joe Marchi (#6) set up Nick D’Olympio (#19) for the game’s first goal. Carolana Selects Elite answered later in the period as Wade Weil (#7) scored off a pass from Evan Ferraro (#9) to even the score.
Carolana Selects Elite then grabbed their first lead when Tyler Kusznier (#8) finished a feed from Jake Prunty (#6) to make it 2-1. Threes Hockey Red Elite pulled even late in regulation as Evan Jones (#3) scored off assists from Andrew O’Sullivan (#4) and Marchi (#6), sending the championship game to overtime.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock in overtime, and Carolana Selects Elite went on to win the shootout to capture the Senior Chowder Cup Jr. A Elite Division title.
