FOXBORO – Competition has been tight at the 2023 Chowder Cup and the San Diego Sabers and DevCo Hockey proved that fact on Friday evening when they played to a 2-2, Jr. A division tie at the Foxboro Sports Center.
An early, unassisted goal from Mario Paganini gave San Diego a 1-0 lead that they carried into the halftime intermission.
The Sabers ran their lead to 2-0 on a Michael Gutierrez goal in the second.
With less than half a period to play, Taye Ladislao scored to put DevCo on the board with his first goal of the tournament. Francis Dunham then brought things back to even with just over two minutes to play, closing out the 2-2 tie.
