CANTON – The New England Crows, who have long made noise at New England Pro-Am tournaments, made another statement on Friday evening as they posted a 5-2 victory over the Salt City Prospects in Jr. A division play at the Canton Ice House.
Salt City got the scoring started with a Gabe Reis goal just a few minutes into the contest, but the Crows put together a four-goal run over the remaining minutes of the first for a comfortable 4-1 advantage at the intermission. Julian Frias twice, Donovan Frias and Troy Maldonado each once to account for the Crows’ four goals.
The Crows struck again early in the second as Davin Nichols extended the lead to 5-1. Simon Lesser did cut into that deficit for Salt City just past the midpoint of the second, but there was no further comeback to be had. Goaltender Aidan Bickford and the Crows defense stood stout to preserve the 5-2 victory.
