Bruins edge out Blaze, 6-5.

FOXBORO – The Due North Bruins closed out their preliminary round slate of games at the 2024 Chowder Cup with a win on Saturday evening. They knocked off the Decatur Blaze 6-5 at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Due North took the game, but Decatur took the first. Early goals from Connor Wilson and Gavin Fitzpatrick set the tone as the Blaze finished the opening frame with a 4-3 advantage.

While the Blaze’s goal scoring dried up in the second – a lone goal late by Ritter Lenhart their only tally in the frame – Due North’s remained consistent. They potted another three in the latter half to rally for the 6-5 win.

Alex Loschiavo netted a pair to lead the Bruins goal scoring charge, though teammate Mason Kim (1G, 2A) led the team in scoring with a three-point showing.

Fitzpatrick had an additional goal and assist to go with that first half score for the Blaze to also finish with a game-high three points.
