Bandits pull away in second to top Nailers 5-3.

BRIDGEWATER – Riding a pair of second half goals, the Bridgewater Bandits defeated Nailers Hockey Club 5-3 on Friday morning at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.

It was an even first half with each side scoring thrice, each side including a shorthanded score in their three tallies. Cam Collins with the shorty for Bridgewater, Hunter Kerzner with the shorty for the Nailers.

Bridgewater pulled away from their foe in the second. Another special teams goal – this one a power play score from Bryce McDonough – gave them a 4-3 advantage in the opening minute of the second half. Will Tripp then added the insurance score later in the frame, rounding out the 5-3 final.

Collins led the game in scoring with a goal and an assist. Brendan Flanagan was credited as the winning netminder for Bridgewater.
