Atlantic Lakers take it to Edge Hockey, 5-2.

CANTON – Atlantic Lakers Red took home the Jr. A division win on Friday when they defeated Edge Hockey Skills 5-2 at the Canton Ice House.

Edge was on the board first with an early goal by Max Tong, but Max Dineen scored less than two minutes later and Atlantic was off and running. They struck twice more – with goals coming from Ted Justicz and Drew Oliveri – to take a 3-1 lead into the halftime break.

Coming back to the ice, Oliveri scored again to make it 4-1 just past the 10-minute mark. Matt Welch cut the deficit to 4-2 a few minutes later, but there was no comeback to be had. Ace Ewanchyna extended the lead back to three and brought the score to its 5-2 final.

Oliveri was the game’s leading goal scorer with his pair of scores, but it was teammate William Pray who was the game’s leading scorer, credited with three assists. Welch (1G, 1A) led the Edge attack with a pair of points.
