CANTON – In their first game at the 2017 Sr. Chowder Cup, the CT Werewolves gave up just one goal, scored a pair. Their second time out, once again the Werewolves allowed just one against their foe, but this time they also scored an impressive 10 in a lopsided victory over the Northeast Generals on Friday at the Canton Ice House.
It was a slow build to the Werewolves offense throughout the first half, punctuated by a late crescendo. Zack Withington got the scoring going at 3:02, while Jack McCluskey doubled the advantage with a shorthanded score at 11:46. That 2-0 is where the score remained until late in the frame when it nearly tripled in the blink of an eye.
Tyler Hill’s goal at the 20-minute mark was the first of three in the span of 1:49 that left the Werewolves with a 5-0 advantage at the half.
There was similar offensive output for the Werewolves in the second half. After running their lead to 6-0, Dylan Figeroa netted the Generals’ lone score of the contest to slow the tide at 6:43, but not for much longer as the Werewolves still were due four more to match their total from the first half and finalize the 10-1 drubbing.
Four Werewolves finished the contest credited with multiple points, Withington leading the way with three goals, followed by a goal and assist each for McCluskey, Zack Polo and Liam Lacroix.
Mike Camasso was credited with the win in net.
