Five in second earns Duckhunters the win.

CANTON – After opening their schedule at the 2017 Sr. Chowder Cup with a narrow 2-1 victory, Duckhunters Camo put on an offensive display in their second Jr. A Division contest. They more than tripled their offensive output in game no. 2, dropping five in the second half for a 7-2 win over Total Hockey Development.

If the game were a short one, it may have been Total Hockey’s day. They were first on the scoreboard when Johnny McDermott notched the game’s first goal an even nine minutes into the contest. It was the only goal of the half for Total Hockey, while the Duckhunters still had a pair to be scored. Noah Kane first with the equalizer at 14:35, then Nick Caputo with the go-ahead at 20:29 of the first half.

The pair of goals were the first two in a run of five unanswered scores that extended into the second half to put the game away.

Harvard commit and Total Hockey forward Matt Gosiewski scored later in the second to stem the bleeding, goal coming at 19:07of the second half, but – just like the last time Total Hockey scored – the Duckhunters still had two more in them before the game’s conclusion. Michael Curran (19:55) and Justin Robertson (22:50) each credited with a score to round out the 7-2 final.

Kane finished the contest as its leading scorer, totaling two goals and an assist.
