WALPOLE – Hockey Essentials Navy made it two wins in two tries at the 2017 Sr. Chowder Cup as they defeated Competitive Edge 3-1 on Friday evening at Rodman Arena.
In the early goings, it looked to be a good day for Competitive Edge. Alex Seibel gave them a 1-0 lead just 1:30 into the contest on a goal assisted on by Matthew Taylor. It was, however, the first and only time they found their way into the scoring column in the contest.
The lead lasted a little over 14-minutes before Hockey Essentials took over. Joseph Iacono netted the equalizer at 15:12, while Dylan Castello put away the go-ahead and eventual game-winner at 21:16.
Jack Smiley added the insurance score at 12:49 of the second half to finalize the 3-1 victory.
The Millbrook School’s Cameron Fernandez was credited with the win in net for Hockey Essentials.
