FOXBORO – The Gladiators made the most of their Jr. A division start at the 2024 Chowder Cup. They defeated Sun City Elite 6-1 in their tournament opener on Thursday evening at the Foxboro Sports Center.
While it was a comfortable victory for the Gladiators in the end, the score was tight at the intermission as the Gladiators lead just 2-1 at the half.
Out of the break, the Gladiator offense exploded for four to put the game away, while goaltender Maxime Braun and the victorious defense set down every Sun City bid to close out the 6-1 win.
It was a balanced attack for the Gladiators, their six goals coming from five different goal scorers. Antonio Cappiello (2G), Thomas Kirkland (1G, 1A) and Sean Chernyak (2A) each credited with multiple points in the win.
Aiden Forcucci was credited with the lone Sun City goal.
