WALPOLE – It was a strong first half that led to a strong first victory of the 2024 Chowder Cup for Advocate Athlete Elite when they defeated 5B Selects (Red) on Thursday at Cadillac Arena.
Advocate wasted no time in taking a commanding lead over 5B as they ran up five unanswered goals in the game’s first half. Hunter Beanland scored twice while Ryan Beanland, Mike Sulio and Jeremi Dzedic each scored once to provide Advocate with their 5-0 cushion.
The scales balanced in the second half as each side netted a pair to finalize the 7-2 victory.
A trio of Athletes went for multiple points in the contest, Ryan Breanland (2G, 1A) leading the way with three. Hunter Breanland (2G) and Peyton Sommer (1G, 1A) were each credited with two.
Troy Statczar and Michael Battista were credited with the goals for 5B.
