CANTON – After a 7-5 win over Strong Island Hockey in their opener on Thursday, the New Jersey Anchors made it two-in-a-row at the 2024 Chowder Cup on Friday morning. They defeated Prestige Hockey Placement (Black) 3-2 at the Canton Ice House.
The game belonged to the Anchors, but the first belong to Prestige as they outscored their opponent 2-1 in the opening frame. Goals from Elliot Fortin and Antoine Brunet sandwiched a goal by Anchor forward Vincent Crisafulli, sending Prestige to the game’s intermission with the lead.
New Jersey took over in the second. A shorthanded score credited to Jake McCloud bought the game back to even at 9:50 of the second. McCloud then setup Luke Jarosiewicz for the game-winner about 10 minutes later. The go-ahead goal at 19:20 of the second giving the Anchors their 3-2 win.
