Roc City goes three times on Core Hockey.

FOXBORO – Roc City Elite Black had to wait until the second day of play to get themselves started at the 2018 Sr. Chowder Cup. The wait, however, was worth it as they opened their preliminary round schedule tripling up on Core Hockey in a 6-2 win on Friday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.

It was triple the score and triples aside for Roc City, netting three in each of the game’s halves. A power play goal by Josef Glamos at 12:18 of the opening frame got things started. Just under two minutes later, Nicholas Charron doubled the advantage. Kyle Jeffers then made it a 3-0 advantage 17:46, which is where the score remained through the remainder of the half.

Core Hockey made things interesting early in the second frame, cutting their deficit from three to one with a pair of goals. Nate Benoit made it a 3-1 game at 2:25 of the second and then a power play goal by Adam McNabey at 7:25 made it 3-2.

A power play goal by Glamos started the scoring once again for Roc City. This one coming at 10:50 of the second half, once again increasing a lead that steadily grew until Glamos completed his hat trick at 22:15 to finalize the 6-2 final.

Glamos’ three goals led all scores in the game, seconded by a pair of assists from teammate Spencer Stanley. William Girard started and Carter McPhail closed the door on the winning effort in the Roc City goal cage.
