Roc City 01’s a perfect 3-0.

FOXBORO – It was three up and three down for Roc City Elite 2001 as they capped their clean sweep through the preliminary round of the 2021 Sr. Chowder Cup with a sizable, 9-2 victory over Little Rhody Elite on Saturday afternoon.

The teams were playing an even, 1-1 game through the first half of the first half before Roc City took off in the latter stages of the frame. Charlie Merkley, Stephen Kyrkostas and Reid Shafer all scoring to make it 4-1 Roc City at the break.

Little Rhody did break the ice in the second half on a Tyler Varin goal, but the Roc City offense was far from done. Five more scores came for the victors, while David Battisti polished off his third win of the tournament from the Roc City net.

Merkley (2G, 1A) and Jayden Jensen (1G, 2A) paced the Roc City offense, each credited with a three-point contest.
