Militia rallies past Bulldogs, 5-4

FOXBORO – The East Coast Militia got their 2014 Chowder Cup tournament schedule started with a win as a pair of late, second half goals pushed them past the Boston Bulldogs, 5-4, in the College Open Division.

With the Bulldogs holding just a 1-0 lead on an Owen Bligh goal through the first half, both offenses came to life in the second, the two sides trading shots back-and-forth. The Bulldogs taking the lead, the Militia tying it up. Boston getting back on top before East Coast took a turn out front, neither side gaining a distinct advantage.

Trailing 4-3 late, the Militia had one last rally left as Ryan Perry brought the game back to even at 18:36 with his first goal of the tournament. The Cranston High School product then set up the game-winner just 55-seconds later, as Jack Scannell completed his hat trick and put the Militia ahead 5-4.

Scannell (3G) and Perry (1G, 2A) led the game in scoring, each with a three-point showing.
