FOXBORO – It was a good start to the tournament for the CD Rangers as they opened their stay in the 2014 Chowder Cup with a 9-0 shutout of East Coast Militia Green in their Jr. A Elite Division match-up at the Foxboro Sports Center.
It took the first quarter of the game to get going, but once Lucas Zwaagstra broke the seal with his tally at 12:57, the offense did not stop for the Rangers.
Zwaagstra’s goal turned into a 3-0 lead by the end of the half, a lead that tripled in the second as 11 different players registered a point in the onslaught. A trio collected three points apiece for CD, Joey Fallon with the hat trick, Max Veronneau with three assists and Tyler O’Neill with two goals and an assist.
David Richer backstopped the clean sheet for the Rangers.
