Wildcats top Milton

RAYNHAM – After a tie in their tournament opener, the Northern Vermont Wildcats notched their first win of the 2016 Chowder Cup on Friday afternoon, defeating Milton Grey 6-1 at the Raynham IcePlex.

They did the bulk of their damage later in the second half, but the Wildcats got things going in the first, staking themselves a 2-0 advantage on goals by Chris Wallace and Scott Reynolds.

Reynolds netted his second of the contest at 4:23 of the second to further the Wildcats’ lead to 3-0. Yun Lee stemmed the tied when he got Milton on the board at 9:24, but all his score did was briefly stall the Northern attack. The Wildcats coming right back to double their score, putting away three more to close out the 6-1 victory.

With three points in the contest, Wallace ended as the game’s leading score, credited with two goals and an assist. Reynolds (2G) and the Wildcats Scott Shorrock (2A) were also credited with multi-point games.

Tucker Angelopolous was credited with the win in net for the Wildcats.
