Prospects Times Two

WALPOLE – All American Prospects by a factor of two was the theme for the contest as the helped bring the second day of play at the 2016 Chowder Cup to a close on Friday night with a 6-3 win over the Walpole Express at Rodman Arena.

Prospects started their path to victory early, Malcolm Arseneau putting them on the board less than a minute after the opening faceoff, his third of the tournament coming at the 0:56 mark. The pace, however, settled in and it took until the 19:30 mark for All American to break through a second time, this score coming from defenseman Jacob Dupont.

Though it looked as it might, the Prospects’ 2-0 advantage did not last until the half, a late goal from John Fine-Lease getting the Express on the board at 23:51. Not only did the lead not last until the half, but soon enough it was gone all together as Niall Foster drew the Express back to even, 2-2, at 16:35 of the second half.

Yet, as was with the case with both the first half and the final, All American doubled up their foe again in the second half. Four more times they broke through the Express, including three-straight to open up a 5-2 advantage before Walpole scored their lone remaining tally. Alex Wisnes and Sean O’Connell scored all of five seconds apart at 17:40 and 17:45, respectively, before Arseneau’s second of the game set the cushion at three and Anthony Scarcella polished off the 6-3 victory with an empty-netter at 24:44.

O’Connell finished with three points (1G, 2A) to lead the game in scoring, while Dylan Carabia (2A) had a multi-point night for the Express.

Kurt Moss recorded the win in the Prospects’ net.
