Brockville Red off to 3-0-0 start.

CANTON – Through the first three mornings it has been three straight wins at the 2018 Sr. Chowder Cup for CD Brockville Red. The team’s most recent victory came Saturday morning at the Canton Ice House, where they defeated the Seacoast Spartans 3-1.

There were minimal entries on the score sheet through the game’s opening 25 minutes. A penalty for each side and just one goal. That coming courtesy of Brockville’s Jet Astrologo, who scored the opening tally at 6:10 of the first half.

The 1-0 advantage lasted until early in the second when Astrologo struck again, this time at 3:28. A power play goal by Sam Renneck at 6:21 of the second half had the Spartans back to within one, but John Bountounis came through at the 9:00 mark for the insurance goal that solidified the 3-1 win.

Both Astrologo (2G) and Bountounis (1G, 1A) were credited with multiple points in the game. Netminder Mikael Landaburu was credited with the win in the Brockville goal cage.
