FOXBORO – New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2016 Senior Chowder Cup is underway. The first game on the docket was scheduled for Thursday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center, a 7-0 rout in favor of the East Coast Wizards over the EC Spartans.
The Wizards assault started early against the Spartans, John Piggott notching the score 1:08 into the contest. Piggott then set up the game’s second score, assisting on Peter Scheschareg’s goal at 10:29 to make it 2-0. East Coast added one more – a Cameron Geary score at 17:38 – to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Led by a pair from Scheschareg, the Wizards bettered their output in the second half, netting four more to complete the 7-0 shutout. Scheschareg finished the contest as the game’s leading scorer with three goals and an assist, followed by a three-point outing from Geary (1G, 2A).
Alex Daccord and Joseph MacDonald split the shutout duties in net for the Wizards.
