Foxborough, Mass. — Team Real Speed Elite erased a two-goal deficit in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals down the stretch to complete a dramatic 5-5 comeback victory over Mountain Goats Elite on Thursday.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Team Real Speed Elite struck first when Sam Kramer (#21) opened the scoring at 10:45. Later in the period, Stephen Nason (#48) doubled the advantage off an assist from Evan Ashton (#44), but Mountain Goats Elite answered in the final minute as Will Schlechtweg (#13) finished a setup from Cameron Wolf (#2) to trim the deficit to 2-1 heading into the break.
Momentum shifted quickly after intermission. Mountain Goats Elite scored four of the next five goals, with Ben Dias (#9) tying the game before Schlechtweg (#13) added his second of the afternoon. Ronnie Hill (#7) extended the lead moments later, and Jared Rothman (#12) buried a shorthanded goal to make it 5-3 midway through the second period.
Facing a two-goal hole, Team Real Speed Elite responded with its strongest stretch of the game. Ben Agrodnia (#96) cut the deficit to one at 14:12, Nathan Caples (#62) evened the score just under three minutes later off an assist from Kramer (#21), and Griffan Godin (#94) completed the comeback at 23:16, finishing a feed from Escher Briere (#47) and Jack Tucker (#24) to secure the 5-5 victory.
