Team Florida wraps up preliminary round with win.

CANTON – In the final game listed on the 2018 Sr. Chowder Cup’s preliminary round schedule, Team Florida defeated CF Sports Management 5-4 at the Canton Ice House Saturday evening.

Offensive prowess was front-and-center in the first half. Both sides came through with a trio of goals as the score ping-ponged back-and-forth, resulting in a 3-3 draw at the half.

In the second half, however, offense seemingly came at a premium. Both sides scored in the first minute – Ulric Beaulieu for CF Sports and Ryan Racy with his second of the game for Team Florida – but there was just one goal left to be scored in the game from that point on.

That goal belonged to Racy. The winger completed his hat trick and gave Team Florida its first lead on the score sheet, 5-4, at 11:20 of the second half. Netminder Joe Schaul closed the door the rest of the day and Team Florida skated off with the victory.

Racy’s three goals were tops amongst point getters in the contest. CF Sports’ Mika Briere (2G) and Team Florida’s Robert Signorino (2A) were also both credited with multiple points.
