FOXBORO – Stellabotte S&D got their stint at the 2021 Sr. Chowder Cup started off on the right foot with a 5-2 victory over JDM Sports on Thursday morning at the Foxboro Sports Center.
The game was shaping up to be a low scoring one, a Gabe Poirier goal that gave Stellabotte the lead the only mark in either scoring column in the game’s first half. Scoring in the second half was not nearly as quiet.
Poirier scored again to make it 2-0 before Brett Williams cut into JDM’s deficit with his score at 4:16 of the second half. Dominic Dezort and Matt Poirier reestablished and extended Stellabotte’s advantage, making it 4-1.
Will Tricarico helped JDM start to crawl back into the game with his score at 16:56 of the second half, but Corbin Ragno’s score in the closing minutes gave Stellabotte their 5-2 cushion.
