Foxborough, Mass. — SS Kings (Sarno) wasted no time taking control, scoring four times in the opening period before fending off a late push from Team North America to earn a 4-3 victory Friday at Foxboro Rink 1.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
The scoring began immediately as Jason Drake (#14) found the back of the net just as the opening puck dropped to give SS Kings (Sarno) a 1-0 lead.
Team North America answered midway through the period when Dax Kenney (#15) evened the score at 14:00. Just one minute later, Francis Hudson (#18) gave Team North America its only lead of the afternoon with assists from Ranger (#14) and CJ Mendola (#4).
SS Kings (Sarno) quickly regained control with three goals over the final two minutes of the period. Nicholas Chiaradonna (#18) tied the game at 17:00 off assists from Brennan Scanlan (#17) and Ryan Shepherd (#9). One minute later, Jamison Vallarelli (#8) scored the eventual game-winner, and Scanlan (#17) added an insurance goal at 19:00 to cap a four-goal opening period for SS Kings (Sarno).
Neither team found the scoresheet in the second period as SS Kings (Sarno) held on for the 4-3 victory.
