Walpole, Mass. — Prestige Hockey Placement built a two-goal lead before withstanding a pair of second-period power-play goals from Tropics to earn a 3-2 victory Saturday in Senior Chowder Cup action.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Prestige Hockey Placement wasted little time getting on the board as Benjamin Lacoste (#53) scored just 58 seconds into the opening period off an assist from Julien Ouelett (#63). Later in the period, Natan Meunier-Roberge (#6) doubled the lead to give Prestige Hockey Placement a 2-0 advantage heading into intermission.
Tropics responded early in the second with a power-play goal from Johnny Haley (#34), who converted a pass from Nhan Boebel (#97) to cut the deficit in half. Momentum continued to swing in Tropics’ favor a few minutes later when Logan Souza (#28) scored on another power play with assists from Darragh Curran (#10) and Ryan Ninemire (#32), evening the score at 2-2.
Prestige Hockey Placement answered late in the period as Ouelett (#63) found the back of the net to restore the lead. Despite a penalty-filled final stretch, Prestige Hockey Placement held off Tropics the rest of the way to secure the 3-2 victory.
