FOXBORO – The first game of the second day of play at New England Pro-Am Hockey’s 2021 Sr. Chowder Cup went to Power Play Hockey North, who defeated CWE Futures 5-2 on Friday morning at Foxboro Sports Center.
Power Play came out quick with three early scores in the game’s opening minutes. Arthur Mirante, Jason Shafer and Kieran Ronan all netted one in the first 5:30 to make it a 3-0 advantage.
CWE came back with a pair of goals late in the first half – one credited to each Ryan Simon and Alex Pramenko – to cut the deficit to 3-2, but when the team’s returned from the intermission break the Power Play offense got after it again.
Another from Shafer and one from Christopher Bugliosi brought the score to its 5-2 final.
