Canton, Mass. — Every time Between The Bucket White cut into the deficit, Mass Pioneers had an answer, scoring twice in the closing minutes to secure a 5-3 victory Friday at Canton Ice House Red.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Mass Pioneers wasted little time taking control as Andrew Sargeant (#2) opened the scoring just 1:25 into the first period. Late in the frame, Nolan O’Neil (#18) doubled the lead at 22:07 with an assist from A. Trubsky (#14) to send Mass Pioneers into the intermission ahead 2-0.
Mass Pioneers extended the advantage early in the second period when Trubsky (#14) scored at 4:49 off a feed from Evan Williams (#15).
Between The Bucket White began to climb back into the game as Stefano Ronca (#27) found the back of the net at 7:53. Less than two minutes later, Logan Smith (#71) cut the deficit to one with an assist from Ryan Wu (#81).
Mass Pioneers responded at 12:39 when Luke Tremblay (#13) restored the two-goal cushion with help from Issac Tavares (#16). After Williams (#15) added another at 17:41 off assists from Trubsky (#14) and O’Neil (#18), Between The Bucket White got one back in the final minute as Harrison Swain (#86) scored with an assist from Luke Puzella (#91), but the comeback fell short as Mass Pioneers closed out the 5-3 win.
