ATTLEBORO – Little Rhody Elite’s offense made a statement in their Jr. A Division opener as they defeated the Tropics 8-5 at the New England Sports Village.
The game’s first half came to a close with the two side’s even at two goals apiece. Little Rhody then came back to the ice with a fury, potting three more to give themselves a healthy cushion. Nathan Young, Noah Dontigny and Sami Hakkarainen with the scores to make it 5-2.
The Tropics did get back to within one at 5-4, but a score from Jake and one more from both Young and Dontigney helped put the game away for Little Rhody before a Tropics’ goal in the closing seconds set things at their 8-5 final.
