Foxborough, Mass. — NorthStar Elite Green Elite appeared to be in control after extending its lead midway through the second period, but Corners Hockey Blue Elite mounted a late rally to salvage a 2-2 tie Friday at Foxboro Rink 2.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
NorthStar Elite Green Elite broke through late in the opening period when Carter Byrne (#73) opened the scoring at 16:58, giving his team a 1-0 advantage heading into the intermission.
The visitors doubled their lead midway through the second as Liam Donnelly (#81) found the back of the net at 15:21 with assists from Byrne (#73) and Andrew MacDonald (#20), putting NorthStar Elite Green Elite in front 2-0.
Corners Hockey Blue Elite responded with urgency over the final minutes. Gavin Haslam (#6) started the comeback at 18:53 before Brady Ellis (#94) buried the equalizer at 24:14 off an assist from Nicholas Ludgate (#10), completing the rally and securing the 2-2 draw.
