Knights top United 5-4

RAYNHAM – After dropping their opener on Thursday, Boston Knights White scored their first win of the 2015 Chowder Cup on Friday night by beating NJ United 5-4 at the Raynham IcePlex in Jr. A Division play.

Terrance Doonan scored the game’s first goal just 34-seconds in to give Boston a 1-0 lead. From that point on the Knights never trailed in the contest. While they never trailed, they were still unable to pull away from their foe in the first as the Knights and United traded goals throughout and the half came to an end tied 2-2.

Doonan was at it again in the second half, scoring even quicker after the opening puck drop – 19-seconds – and this time the lead was theirs for good. A goal at 4:56 by Justin Cole – the game’s high scorer with a goal and two assists – opened the Knights’ lead to 4-2.

After the two sides swapped goals to make it 5-3, United made it interesting late when they cut their deficit to one. With just 24-seconds left on the clock following Christopher Kattak’s goal that made it 5-4, there was just not enough time left for a United rally.
