Canton, Mass. — Jr. Ropes scored twice in the final minutes to break a 2-2 tie and secure a 4-2 victory over Tier 1 Hockey on Saturday in Senior Chowder Cup action.
Greyson Steadman (#26) gave Jr. Ropes an immediate advantage, scoring just 15 seconds into the opening period off an assist from Brenden Shean (#22). Neither side found the net again before the first intermission.
Tier 1 Hockey drew even early in the second period when Colten Lathrop (#21) converted a setup from Carson Cunningham (#11) and Cam Joinville (#24). Jr. Ropes moved back in front later in the period as Stanley Blake Whiteman (#77) scored with assists from Bryce Davis (#38) and Shean (#22).
Tier 1 Hockey answered once more on the power play. Joinville (#24) finished a play created by Cody Bailow (#3) and Lathrop (#21) to make it 2-2.
With the game still even late in the period, Whiteman (#77) delivered his second goal off passes from Ryan Burkett (#11) and Brett Whiteman (#23). Elijah Harrell (#14) then added another goal with Whiteman (#77) providing the assist, sealing the 4-2 win.
