Foxborough, Mass. — Three unanswered second-period goals gave Inside Edge Advisory Blue enough breathing room to hold off a late charge from NH Knights Black Elite for a 3-2 victory Thursday at Foxboro Rink 1.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
After a scoreless opening period, Inside Edge Advisory Blue wasted little time breaking through. Just 36 seconds into the second, John Renzullo (#13) opened the scoring off assists from Caden Englund (#18) and Nasean Fariah (#6).
Inside Edge Advisory Blue continued to build momentum midway through the period. Brody Gariepy (#17) doubled the lead at 9:43 with assists from Englund (#18) and Lennon Hodges (#2) before Englund (#18) capped the surge with at 15:23 to make it 3-0.
NH Knights Black Elite made things interesting in the closing minutes. Max Gagnon (#19) put his team on the board at 19:41 off an assist from Evan Nee (#16), and Will Manchuso (#18) scored with 2:03 remaining, converting a setup from Jack Taylor (#3) and Phin Howard (#6). Despite the late rally, Inside Edge Advisory Blue held on to secure the 3-2 victory.
