CANTON – The NE Freezers opened their College Open slate of games at the 2021 Sr. Chowder Cup with a win on Thursday morning. They defeated TH Pioneers 7-3 at the Canton Ice House.
James Koo and Joe O’Brien made it 2-0 Freezers in the first. The Pioneers rallied to make it a 2-2 score, but it was not there for long as the Freezers had their lead back before the break.
The Freezers poured on three more to open the second half to take a 6-2 lead, before both sides added one more to bring the score to its 7-3 final. Koo (1G, 1A), Jeff Melanson (2G) and Cooper Conlin (2A) all credited with a pair of points for the Freezers.
