WALPOLE – The Esquires continue to make waves in the early goings of the 2014 Chowder Cup. Less than 24 hours after opening their tournament schedule with a 14-1 win, the Esquires moved to 2-0 early Saturday morning, roughing up the Valley Hockey Group, 10-3, at Rodman Arena.
An early flourish got the ball rolling for the Esquires as they built up a 3-0 lead in the game’s first six minutes on a pair of goals from Jeremy Bracco and one from Dylan Holze. A pair from Brandon Fortunato brought the lead to 5-0 before Valley broke up the shutout with a goal from John Deacon just before the half.
The Esquires then doubled up their score in the second half, opening up a 10-1 advantage over Valley to put the game away. Bracco completed his hat trick and Sonny Milano – the tournament’s leading score by game’s end – scored back-to-back goals. Matthew Ward and Aidan Salemo rounded out the scoring for the Esquires with a goal apiece.
As they had in the first half, Valley saved their scoring until late, getting goals from Josh Worthen at 16:25 and Austin Harding at 23:43 to finish off the game.
