FOXBORO – CWE Grey had one 2022 Sr. Chowder Cup opening round game remaining when they took to the Foxboro Sports Center Ice to play the NE Freezers on Saturday evening. They made that game a 5-2 College Open win.
Though there was a comfortable gap at the end, the score was even through the first with each side scoring a pair. The Freezers scored the first and the last of the frame. Jimmy Dunn and Adyn Simmons had the goals that bookended a pair of CWE scores from Chase Yrsha and Logan Flynn. It was 2-2 at the half.
Kenneth Boychuk gave CWE their first lead of the game and 11:03 of the second and started a three-goal run that secured the 5-2 victory. Zach Rochette and Michael Brazil credited with the remaining two CWE goals.
