WALPOLE – A second half rally brought CWE (Red) from behind to secure their third win of the 2024 Chowder Cup with a 5-3 defeat of the Boston Bulls on Saturday at Cadillac Arena.
Boston took a 1-0 lead into the second curtesy of a Charlie Dimartino goal, but it was a lead that did not last long thereafter.
A power play goal from Logan Behrje got CWE on the board and back to even just 1:10 into the second period. It was the first of four-straight for CWE as they took the lead and left the Bulls behind.
Colin Gabriel cut into the scoring assault to make it 4-2 with a Boston goal at 17:36 of the second, but there was no comeback to be had for the Bulls. The two sides traded goals down the stretch to close out the 5-3 final.
Behrje and Jacob Kulas each finished the contest with a goal and an assist, leading the CWE offense.
Goaltender Russ Decosta was credited with the win.
