Foxborough, Mass. — All nine goals were scored in the opening period as Corners Hockey White Elite defeated Threes Hockey Black Elite, 5-4, on Saturday in Senior Chowder Cup action.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Corners Hockey White Elite wasted little time getting on the board as Renaud Poulin (#5) scored just 29 seconds into the game off an assist from Owen Keefe (#88). Threes Hockey Black Elite answered through Jacob Tucznio (#17), who finished a play set up by Jake Pomichter (#16) to even the score.
Corners Hockey White Elite reclaimed the lead when Poulin (#5) scored again, but Threes Hockey Black Elite continued to respond. Zach Greenlund (#13) tied the game with help from Timofej Zukovsky (#2) before Zukovsky (#2) put Threes Hockey Black Elite ahead with an assist from Brady Boisvert (#11).
The lead changed hands again as Yoan Tasse (#13) buried a shorthanded goal off a feed from Luke Pazzia (#99) to level the score. Will Norton (#4) then gave Corners Hockey White Elite a 4-3 advantage with assists from Poulin (#5) and Matty MacDonald (#8).
Corners Hockey White Elite wasn’t finished. Poulin (#5) completed his hat trick off another pass from Keefe (#88) to extend the lead before Zukovsky (#2) scored a late shorthanded goal with assists from Greenlund (#13) and Mason Stults (#3), trimming the deficit to one.
Neither team found the net in the second period, allowing Corners Hockey White Elite to hold on for the 5-4 victory.
