Foxborough, Mass. — Carolina Selects Elite built an early lead, weathered a comeback attempt from US Express Elite Blue and scored the final two goals to earn a 4-2 victory Sunday in Senior Chowder Cup playoff action.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
Carolina Selects Elite opened the scoring when Evan Ferraro (#9) capitalized on a power-play opportunity with an assist from Lorenza Tita (#10). Moments later, Jake Prunty (#6) doubled the lead off a setup from Wade Weil (#7).
US Express Elite Blue answered with consecutive goals to erase the deficit. Trent Chamberlain (#81) got his team on the board with help from Chase Field (#63) before Ronan Redmond (#67) finished a feed from Drew Sklar (#37) to tie the game at 2-2.
Carolina Selects Elite responded by reclaiming the lead as Tita (#10) scored on assists from Richard Jenkins (#3) and Tyler Kusznier (#8).
Jenkins (#3) added an empty-net goal to put the game away and seal the 4-2 playoff victory.
