CANTON – The Canton Cubs asserted themselves on home ice to open their preliminary round slate at the 2019 Sr. Chowder Cup. They defeated the Seacoast Spartans 5-2 on Friday at the Canton Ice House.
Canton amassed a 4-0 lead in the opening half to start the contest. Tucker MacIntosh, Egor Borschev, Brendan Heayden and Aidan Burke all came through for the Cubs.
Matt Livingston got the Spartans on the board before the first half break. The goal did stave off the Canton attack for a brief moment, but it was not enough to spark any sort of comeback. The two sides traded goals in the second and the contest ended with a score of 5-2.
