Boston Jr. Whalers Break Deadlock Late to Earn 4-3 Win

Attleboro, Mass. — Every time Little Rhody/DMV Black Jr. found a way to level the score, Boston Jr. Whalers answered, using two late second-period goals to earn a 4-3 victory on Friday at NESV Premier.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

Little Rhody/DMV Black Jr. opened the scoring just 1:50 into the game when Sergei Khomenok (#9) finished a setup from Eli Bonilla (#14) and Joshua Tyczinski (#13). Boston Jr. Whalers responded late in the period as Jacobi Magnotta (#71) found the back of the net at 14:09, sending the teams into the first intermission tied 1-1.

The pace picked up in the second period. Vincent Aucoin (#80) gave Boston its first lead at 7:23 off assists from Oliver Derrick-Bock (#50) and Holden Wiley (#52), but Khomenok (#9) answered just over a minute later to even the score once again.

Boston Jr. Whalers regained control in the closing minutes. Thomas Harvey (#18) broke the tie at 18:57 before Magnotta (#71) scored his second goal of the afternoon at 20:50 with assists from Derrick-Bock (#50) and Brandyn Boch (#54), extending the lead to 4-2.

Little Rhody/DMV Black Jr. made one final push as Khomenok (#9) completed the hat trick at 21:50 off an assist from Bonilla (#14), but Boston Jr. Whalers held on over the final minutes to seal the 4-3 victory.
