Blues Double Townshend

BEDFORD – Three up and three down so far for Boston Blues Hockey White at the 2016 Chowder Cup. They moved their College Open division record to 3-0 on Saturday morning at the Edge Sports Center in Bedford following a 4-2 victory over Townshend Hockey Selects.

The scoring was mostly quiet in the first, the half’s lone goal coming courtesy of August Mueller. The Townshend pivot providing his teammates with a 1-0 advantage at 19:26. Townshend’s lead lasted through the half, but was gone quickly in the second.

Tyler Reynolds bookended a three-goal run for the Blues early in the latter half, credited with scores at 1:14 and 5:24, sandwiching one by Patrick Lavin at 3:56. The goal spurt put Boston from down one to up two at 3-1. Lavin then made it a three-goal advantage with his second of the contest at 20:52 of the second half.

Cameron Cokinos’ score at 23:48 got Townshend back to within two, but it was a goal that did not start a rally, rather ended the game’s scoring at a 4-2 final.

The two goals apiece for Reynolds and Lavin were tops amongst Blues scorers, while Jackson Goodman (2A) closed with a multi-point showing for Townshend.

Thomas Lemire and Kyle Paquette split the goaltending duties in net for Boston, each giving up a goal.
