CANTON – Between the Buckets’ (Black) College Open slate of games at the 2024 Chowder Cup began with a victory on Thursday morning. They defeated Five Hole Hockey 7-5 at the Canton Ice House.
The game was high scoring from the start as the two sides combined for seven in the opening frame, one that ended with the Buckets leading 4-3.
It all played out in similar fashion in the second as the goals continued to flow. Once again the Buckets took the half by a one-goal margin, 3-2, as the closed out their 7-5 victory.
Brady Prefontaine led the way for the victors with a four-point showing for Between the Buckets, credited with three goals and an assist. He was aided by three points from Nick Buckland (2G, 1A).
Elijah Hennis and Drew Lause led the Five Hole offense, each credited with a goal and an assist.
