BRIDGEWATER – AP Selects made it two wins in two days at the 2015 Chowder Cup as they shutout the Wolverines 3-0 in Friday’s College Open Division play at the Bridgewater Ice Arena.
After the two sides skated to a scoreless first half, the AP offense went to work in the second, their power play leading the charge.
With the Wolverines’ Jonathan Shepard in the box for roughing, Jordan Petersen started the scoring with his second of the tournament, making it 1-0 at 5:52 of the second half. The AP power play struck again about three minutes later. With Dylan Yameen having been sent off for interference, the door was open for defenseman Ian Andersen to send one home at 9:02 for the 2-0 advantage.
The power play set the tone, but it was at even strength AP put the game away, Alec Rankin and Rob DiStefano combining for the 5-on-5 score that set things at their 3-0 final, the former credited with the goal at 21:34.
